I recently read an article about some guy commuting to work in Boston on a motorcycle in winter. The accompanying picture showed him on a city street covered in snow and ice while he death-gripped the handlebars.
It made me think of that yearly rally in Germany where they set out for the mountains in the dead of winter.
I thought, "What if I tried to ride every day for one whole year?" Just to do it, you know?
I was thinking an adventure tourer, a heated suit, spiked tires like the ice racers use. Hmmm...
Then I realized that I pick up the kids after work every day. Somehow, I don't think they'd like it.
Maybe when they're older and I'm hitting my midlife crisis...and the life insurance is paid up.
